The South West Essex Community Musculoskeletal (MSK) Service provides specialist assessment and treatment for people with muscle, joint and bone conditions. You can access expert physiotherapy care without needing a GP appointment. The service supports pain management, movement, and recovery, helping you stay active and independent through personalised treatment plans.
The service offers expert MSK assessment, diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of conditions, including back pain, neck pain, joint problems, soft tissue injuries and long-term musculoskeletal conditions. Clinicians provide evidence-based treatment, advice, exercises and self-management support. Where needed, patients can be referred onward to appropriate services to ensure the right care at the right time.

Care is delivered by experienced MSK clinicians through a combination of face-to-face appointments, telephone or video consultations. Appointments are tailored to individual needs and may include assessment, hands-on treatment, exercise programmes and self-management advice. Self-referral is available online or by phone, providing quick and direct access to care.
